In connection with the Hanse Sail 2003 in Rostock the 3rd Seaplane Meet took place. The biggest change compared with the Meet in 2002 was the fact that the sea base had been moved from the naval station Warnemuende/Hohe Duene to the Fish harbour in Rostock. Around 200 sightseeing flights took place that weekend and the meet started with some highlights. The Fliegerrevue Airshow Team with its Zlin 42/43 made an appearance everyday. The aircraft flew out of Purkshof (EDCX) and the most welcome finale on Thursday was the fly-by of a 4-ship MiG-29 of the JG73"S" based in Rostock-Laage.
The seaplane with the most colorful scheme was the Cessna 206 of Air Service Berlin, which was presented in a splendid red colour scheme. The company offers sightseeing trips at Rostock on a regular basis and also is flying the route Rostock-Berlin.
The biggest participant was a Cessna 208B Caravan and came from Sweden as most of the seaplanes that took part.
A Bell 47 proofed that a helicopter can land and depart at sea as well.
