The airfield Neustadt Glewe is situated near the A24 between Hamburg and Berlin. On the way back from a photo shooting in Laage I saw a sign for the airfield and decided to make a stop. Some of you may have heard about Neustadt Glewe earlier in connection with World War 2 and the KZ Ravensbrück.
When arriving at the airfield I was surprised. There was a lot of action going on but I was much more interested in the more rare aircraft parked all over the airfield like an fresh reworked Antonov An-2, Wilgas and Zlins. In the hangars more planes were parked like another L-200 Morava with Czech registration, a Zlin 43 in NVA markings, Zlin 526 etc.! To keep all the aircraft airworthy a lot of money is needed so round trips for money are most welcome. Parachute jumping and glider flying is also possible. Also based in Neustadt Glewe are the Zlins of the Fliegerrevue Airshow Team. You see, this airfield is worth a visit!
