Although the Oktoberfest is held annually as a party for all service men and women of the wing and their families lot of guests from foreign air forces are welcome and there were a lot once again. Every year the organization team manages to attract interesting and very often special colored aircraft to Lechfeld and here we go.

119 L-39ZO c/n 831119 59.HRE ex 28+26; The L-39 received that color scheme in connection with the fusion of the 2nd and 3rd squadron of the 59.Fighter Wing in Kesckemet. While the 1st squadron is preparing for the Gripen, the 2nd squadron continues to operate the MiG-29 and now also the L-39. The latter are used as aggressor.

In Erding it will be flown until there are no more flying hours left. Afterwards it is destined for the Luftwaffenmuseum in Gatow.
